      Hangman — classroom word game

The classic hangman word game, built for the whiteboard. Choose a category for a random word — animals, countries, science and more — or type your own secret word for the class, then guess letters one at a time before the drawing is complete. A quick, no-prep starter or time-filler.

How to use it, who it's for & FAQ

      How to use it

      1. Pick a category, or choose “Type my own word” and enter a secret word (it's masked as you type).
      2. Press Start — the hidden word shows as blanks, with an on-screen A–Z keyboard.
      3. Tap a letter (or use your keyboard). Correct letters fill the blanks; wrong ones add to the drawing.
      4. Solve the word before six misses. Press “Change word” for another go.

      Who it's for

      • Teachers: a zero-prep starter or reward game — use a category or drop in this week's spellings or vocabulary.
      • Tutors: spelling and vocabulary practice, one word at a time.
      • Anyone: the word game everyone knows, on any screen.

      FAQ

Can I use my own words?

Yes — choose “Type my own word” and enter a secret word or short phrase. It's masked while you type so the class can't peek, perfect for spellings or topic vocabulary.

      What categories are included?

Animals, countries, food, science, sport and space, each with a set of words picked at random.

How many wrong guesses are allowed?

Six — the classic hangman figure is drawn one piece at a time, and the word is revealed if you run out.

      Is it free and private?

Completely — no ads, no sign-up, and it works offline once loaded.
